Snow Leopard and Me

Well, Installation of Snow Leopard went really well. I think it was the smoothest upgrade I have experienced on any system. It took about 45 mins. including the one reboot in the middle. It is pretty much identical to Leopard, but it does feel much snappier (and Leopard was no slouch). I spotted a couple of issues

1) Insomnia does not work anymore. The icon comes up, but it fails when you try to enable it. This is a pain in the neck because I love to listen to iTunes all night, and it's nice to be able to shut the cover without the laptop going into sleep mode. I'm sure the folks who make Insomnia will fix this soon...

2) I had to re-register Darwinia. Not a big deal, but as most of my other system settings (even my background) stayed the same it's funny that Darwinia hiccuped.

3) ARRRGH! Still no Exchange 2007 Support. Exchange requires an update to talk to mail. What a PAIN. I will try to sneak in the update during Tuesday maintenance.

All in all not too bad of a job. So far it has been solid as a rock. I tested all of my proggies that I usually use, and they all seem to work. MS Office came up fine, and seems OK, Doomsday (Doom engine) with all to goofy special effects ran, Spore runs smoother if anything, Mame OSX, a slew of other games, MS Messenger, Firefox..... blah blah blah.

What else???????
Umm, yes, boot times seem massively faster, and I got back about 6-8GB of hard drive space.

Not bad... not bad at all.
